Jenn Tran is getting her own shot at love!
After things didn’t work out between her and Joey Graziadei, Jenn was announced as the leading lady for season 21 of The Bachelorette.
During the live portion of The Bachelor‘s season 28 finale, franchise host Jesse Palmer brought out the latest Bachelorette, Charity Lawson, to reveal that the physician assistant student would get another chance to find the one.
Jenn tugged at fans’ heartstrings when she opened up to Joey about her estranged relationship with her dad, which she said impacted her relationships with men in the past. Joey ultimately sent Jenn packing ahead of Hometowns, leaving many to root for her to land The Bachelorette role.
“I’m looking for someone who has a big personality,” she told Jesse. “… If we spend the whole night literally making fun of each other that would be the most ideal night ever.”
As for her hopes for the process, Jenn said she wants to find “her person” who’s her “perfect match.”
“I think I’ll know when I find him,” she said.
When it comes to being the first Asian Bachelorette, Jenn said, “It’s honestly incredible. I feel so, so grateful and so honored.”
In a press release for the upcoming season, ABC described Jenn as “a sweet and compassionate woman who has dedicated her life to helping others.”
“The bilingual Vietnamese beauty currently resides in Miami and is ready to find love with a man who’s as reliable and thoughtful as she is,” the network added.
As for why Joey’s runner-up, Daisy, didn’t land the role, the account executive explained, “My life the last year has been crazy… I’m healthy and I’m happy and I haven’t had those two things in a long time… Right now, no I’m not ready. And that’s OK. I’m really proud of myself for realizing that.”
Season 21 of The Bachelorette will premiere in July on ABC.
