Menna Fitzpatrick: Briton wins Para-alpine World Cup downhill gold in St Moritz

Menna Fitzpatrick is Britain’s most-decorated Winter Paralympian

Great Britain’s Menna Fitzpatrick, guided by Katie Guest, won downhill gold on day two of the Para-alpine World Cup in St Moritz, Switzerland.

The pair also secured silver at the same venue in Saturday’s season opener.

South Korea’s Sara Choi and Sanghyun Jung were second on Sunday, with Slovakia’s Alexandra Rexova and Hugo Rybar – who claimed gold in the first race – finishing in third.

Fitzpatrick and Guest’s winning time was one minute 17.69 seconds.

Macclesfield-born skier Fitzpatrick is Britain’s most-decorated Winter Paralympian with six medals.

The 25-year-old said on Saturday the races were all about “building confidence in speed”, and also praised guide Guest for her performance.

GB Para-alpine head coach Ally Brown said there was “much more to come” from the GB pair.
