The 2024 NFL season continues – and you can follow it every step of the way live on Sky Sports on the road to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

A game of the season contender is on the horizon as Josh Allen, fresh off his six-touchdown game against the Los Angeles Rams, leads the Buffalo Bills (10-3) out against the Detroit Lions (12-1).

It beckons as a meeting of not only the league’s two highest-scoring offenses, but also as a potential Super Bowl preview, with kickoff at 9.25pm, live on Sky Sports NFL.

Before then, the Tua Tagovailoa-inspired Miami Dolphins (6-7) will look to keep their playoff hopes alive as they visit CJ Stroud’s Houston Texans (8-5).

The Seattle Seahawks (8-5) will be seeking to extend their winning streak to five games at the top of the NFC West when they host the Green Bay Packers (9-4) in Sunday Night Football.

A Monday Night Football double-header then sees Sam Darnold’s Minnesota Vikings (11-2) entertain the Chicago Bears (4-9), while Kirk Cousins’ struggling Atlanta Falcons (6-7) are hoping to snap a four-game losing streak against the Las Vegas Raiders (2-11).

NFL 2024 season dates

The 2024 NFL season began on September 5, with reigning Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs beating the Baltimore Ravens in dramatic fashion.

The regular season lasts 18 weeks and ends on January 5 2025.

At the end of the regular season, a total of 14 teams advance to the playoffs, including the teams with the best record in each of the respective four divisions per conference, plus a further three ‘wild card’ teams determined by which teams own the next-best records in each conference.

Three rounds of playoff games – the Wildcard Round (January 11-13), the Divisional Round (January 18-19) and the Conference Championships (January 26) take place before the Super Bowl showpiece.

When is the 2025 Super Bowl?

The 2025 Super Bowl takes place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9, live on Sky Sports.

It will mark the 11th time the Super Bowl has taken place in New Orleans, the most recent being in 2013.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar will headline the Super Bowl LIX half-time show.
