Today on Sky Sports Racing: Maljoom headlines Tandridge Stakes line-up | Racing News

German 2000 Guineas winner Maljoom headlines the runners going to post for the Tandridge Stakes this afternoon – live on Sky Sports Racing…

2.32 Lingfield – Maljoom stars in Listed Tandridge Stakes

The William Haggas-trained Maljoom will be a warm order to land this Listed prize under Tom Marquand.

A Group 2 winner on the turf, the six-year-old won his only start on the all-weather at Kempton back in 2022 and should take this Listed BetMGM Tandridge Stakes with plenty to spare.

Tyrrhenian Sea, rated 12lbs inferior to the selection, rates the major danger for Roger Varian and Jack Mitchell. Last seen chasing home Royal Champion in the 10 furlong Quebec Stakes here, he is the most likely to capitalise if the favourite disappoints.

Of the others, Ed Walker’s Popmaster looks booked for third with Billy Loughnane in the plate.

2.12 Bangor – Well Dick and Rockinastorm fancied for marathon

A cracking renewal of this Corbett Sports North Wales National Handicap Chase sees Well Dick among a field of 16 runners.

The eight-year-old doubled his tally over fences when claiming an Exeter handicap over three miles last month and steps back up in distance under Adam Wedge. That was just his second start for new trainer Emma Lavelle, and he can step forward again.

Henry Daly took this prize with Bretney in 2023 and Rockinastorm has strong claims as he heads up in distance and down in grade. An excellent second at Ascot on his last start, he jumped left throughout and will be suited by this track. David Bass retains the ride on this runner, who finished in the top two places on his most recent visits to the Welsh track.

Plenty have each-way claims including Robert Walford’s hat-trick seeking Caeruleum and Schalke, with Toby Wynne taking off 3lbs.

6.15 Southwell – Unbeaten Rebel’s Gamble faces Cyclonite

The Weekly Free Bets With BetMGM Extra Handicap looks to be a competitive feature event, despite the small field lining up in Nottinghamshire.

Karl Burke’s Rebel’s Gamble arrives unbeaten after winning at Southwell and Newcastle and rates the one to beat off this opening mark of 95. Donning the Clipper Logistics silks, the full brother of Ayr Gold Cup winner Nahaarr will be certain of a return to the winner’s enclosure if he produces a similar display to that of the aforementioned last day at Gosforth Park.

Cyclonite has made plenty of experience having run on eight occasions, and having kept on well behind So Darn Hot at Newcastle, he merits respect from this 1lb lower mark.

Andrew Balding saddles Humam who produced an impressive change of gear when landing a Lingfield novice and is one to note as he enters handicaps for the first time. Yes I’m Mali and The Actor complete the shortlist.

Best of the rest

Laganhill was much the best on debut at Haydock and could well follow up in Henry Daly’s colours in the Ruabon EBF “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle at Bangor (2.42pm).

At Southwell, a Class 3 Win £1M With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap opener sees Cracking Gold and Empirestateofmind clash, with both holding claims after second place finishes the last day.

In the 5.15pm Best Odds Guaranteed At BetMGM Novice Stakes, Tremorgio runs in the Godolphin blue for Charlie Appleby, with Oisin Murphy an eyecatching jockey booking. Atlantic Sunset is not to be discounted for Charlie Johnston after a decent second on reappearance last time out.

At Lingfield, Tadreeb seeks a four-timer in the 3.02pm Gamble Responsibly At BetMGM Handicap.
