We have a busy day’s racing on Thursday with All-Weather action from Southwell and Wolverhampton, live on Sky Sports Racing…

7.30 Wolverhampton – Wathnan runner Artagnan faces Gold Star Hero

The pick of a quality evening card at Wolverhampton is the Free Bets On attheraces.com Handicap where Artagnan tops a field of six.

Hamad Al Jethani’s son of Mehmas finished last season in good heart, winning at Chelmsford before finishing third when favourite at Chelmsford and that form gives him obvious claims as he drops into this 0-85 under James Doyle.

Gold Star Hero is a big player for the Michael Bell and Hector Crouch combination. Bell has been firing in the winners this spring and he will go well if able to dominate from the front.

Queue Dos has excellent form around here with four wins from six starts and rates the best of the rest.

4.25 Southwell – Useful pair Adjuvant and Carlton clash

Adjuvant and Carlton feature among a quality field of six for this Free Digital Racecard At Raceday-Ready.com Handicap at Southwell.

The James Owen-trained Carlton is a proven all-weather performer who was last seen scoring over hurdles at Huntingdon last month and makes plenty of appeal as he switches to the flat. He is just four pounds higher than when winning at Chelmsford in February and the step up to two-mile could suit.

Adjuvant, rated a lot higher than this in the past, was last seen finishing down the field in the November handicap at Doncaster and has only his second start on the all-weather. This is a lot easier than his recent assignments and he could bounce back.

Imperial Sovereign is a consistent type, while Senor Cortez is another to note on his second run for trainer John Butler.

4.55 Southwell – Tilted Kilt and Down To The Kid contest strong Handicap

Tilted Kilt and Down To The Kid headline a trappy Download The Racecourse App Raceday Ready Handicap at 4.55pm.

Last year’s winner Down To The Kid stayed on strongly behind Legal Reform in a fair race over seven furlongs here last time and he looks primed to go close as he dips down in grade.

Tilted Kilt has dropped to a useful mark having failed to win since his debut run back in 2024. A little unlucky on his penultimate run at Haydock, he failed to fire in a better race at the same venue in September and rates a big threat if fit enough on this return.

Star Studied disappointed when favourite at Wolverhampton but is given another chance, while Eldrickjones cannot be ruled out on the pick of his efforts this winter.
