At least two dead in Ukraine in fresh Russian attacks

At least two people have been killed in Ukraine as a result of Russian attacks, authorities said on Wednesday.

According to military governor Oleh Hryhorov, a 42-year-old man was killed in the town of Romny in the north-eastern Sumy region. Hryhorov wrote on Telegram that the Russian military had struck a residential building, presumably with a drone. The man’s family was injured.

In the Zaporizhzhya district in south-eastern Ukraine, Russia’s army launched an attack using glide bombs, according to Governor Ivan Fedorov.

Several residential buildings and other structures were reportedly destroyed in the village of Balabyne.

The body of one person was found under the rubble of one of the houses, Fedorov wrote. A 47-year-old woman was also injured in an attack on the city of Zaporizhzhya.

Ukraine has been defending itself against a large-scale Russian invasion for more than four years with Western assistance.
