Brazil’s Tourism Ministry has delayed the start of its new digital guest registration requirement for hotels, motels and other lodging providers by 60 days.
The change affects the Ficha Nacional de Registro de Hóspedes Digital (FNRH digital) — a national digital guest registration system aimed at modernising hotel check-ins and data collection across the country.
The extension was published on 19 February 2026 and adjusts the date when the system becomes compulsory for the hospitality sector.
Deadline shift for digital guest registration
The federal ordinance extends the deadline for hotels and accommodation providers to adopt the FNRH digital guest registration platform in Brazil by another 60 days.
Under the revised timetable, the system will become obligatory around mid-April 2026 — 150 days after the original regulation came into force in November 2025. This postponement gives businesses additional time to prepare for mandatory digital reporting of guest information.
The FNRH digital system replaces paper forms previously used at check-in with an online registration process managed through a government platform.
It is designed to standardise how guest data is collected, stored and accessed by lodging providers across Brazil, in line with national tourism law.
