Chinese carmaker Geely Auto Group has introduced its compact electric hatchback, the EX2, in the Brazilian market.
Built on the company’s GEA platform, the compact city car measures 4,135 millimetres (mm) long, 1,805 mm wide and 1,580 mm high, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase.
Geely says these proportions aim to combine nimble handling with generous interior space for the segment.
Safety measures for the EX2 focuses on battery protection and structural resilience.
The package includes a Geely battery safety system, an optimised structural layout, and a real-time temperature monitoring system.
Structural reinforcements include a cage-like cabin framework, a #-shaped rear subframe and a tri-directional energy-absorbing structure intended to improve crash performance across different impact scenarios.
The EX2 first appeared internationally at the 2024 Automechanika Frankfurt show in Germany prior to its debut in China, where it is sold as the Xingyuan.
The group said the model topped sales in China from January through September 2025 and ranked as the world’s second-highest-selling BEV in August 2025.
It added that in September 2025 the vehicle reached a new record in China by becoming the quickest model to surpass 400,000 units sold.
The Brazilian launch follows Geely Auto’s earlier entry into the country with its electric SUV model EX5, introduced in August, and signals a continued focus on the market.
Under an agreement between Renault Group and Geely Holding earlier this month, Renault do Brasil is set to manufacture Geely-branded zero and low-emission vehicles at its Ayrton Senna plant in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná.
The Brazil launch also marks its expansion in the global market.
Geely plans to expand the model’s availability to markets across five continents within a year, including major European countries and several Southeast Asian markets such as Thailand and Indonesia.
In May, Geely Auto partnered with Jameel Motors to distribute its new energy vehicles (NEVs) in Poland.
“Geely Auto rolls out EX2 electric hatchback in Brazil” was originally created and published by Just Auto, a GlobalData owned brand.
