Hamas has handed over additional human remains it says belong to one of the hostages seized by the militant group, the Israeli military said on Tuesday, citing the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The military said a coffin containing the remains was transferred in the Gaza Strip to Red Cross staff, who then delivered it to Israeli authorities.
The remains will be taken to a forensic institute in Israel for identification. It was not immediately clear whose body had been recovered.

The Islamist group has previously returned remains that did not belong to any of the hostages still listed as missing following the October 7, 2023 attack.
Before the handover on Tuesday evening, the bodies of eight deceased hostages were still believed to be in Gaza.
As part of a US-brokered peace initiative, Hamas released all surviving hostages on October 13 in exchange for the freeing of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
