The Israeli military said on Saturday that it killed a high-ranking Hamas commander in the Gaza Strip who had been working to restore the Palestinian militia’s capabilities and weapons production.
The announcement, made in a statement, did not name the person killed.
Israeli media outlets the Times of Israel and ynet reported that Raad Saad was the top commander of the Palestinian militant organization who was targeted in an airstrike and killed in Gaza City.
Saad is said to have been the chief planner of the terrorist attack on October 7, 2023, in southern Israel, in which around 1,200 people were killed and more than 250 others were abducted to the Gaza Strip.
