Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Monday was overjoyed about the election victory of the Tisza party led by Hungarian opposition leader Peter Magyar.
“Welcome back to Europe!” the Polish leader wrote on X.
He also posted a video showing him speaking by phone with Magyar during a visit to South Korea.
“Oh, I’m so happy! I think I’m even happier than you,” Tusk says in English.

Tusk, a former European Council president, led a pro-European opposition alliance to victory in Poland’s 2023 parliamentary elections, a win that is now widely seen as a reference point for Magyar’s win.
The victory pushed the right-wing conservative, EU-sceptic Law and Justice party or PiS into opposition after eight years in government.
