Police find explosives, guns in raid on illegal crypto operation

According to a police spokesperson, the National Cyber Crime Unit of Lahav 433 was undertaking a covert investigation over the last few months into an illegal cryptocurrency financial service.

On Monday, police raided the homes and office of the suspects in Rishon Lezion. There, they arrested the five suspects, aged 30-50, and took them in for interrogation.

During the raid, police located around 80,000 shekels in cash, as well as guns, stun grenades, plastic explosives, ammunition, and a substance suspected to be cocaine.

The explosive materials were safely brought to a lab for further investigation.

Illegal business suspected of loaning cash to criminals

Police also announced on Monday that Lahav 433 had arrested seven people in Kafr Kassem for running an illegal change operation.

Police stated that the suspects were thought to have conducted financial services without a license, including an illegal money loaning business, which may have extended tens of millions of shekels in loans to criminals.

During raids on the change operation, police confiscated blank checks, seals, invoices, real estate documentation, high-end cars, a substance suspected to be cocaine, and around NIS 430,000 in cash.
