Saudi Arabia: The Saudi Pro League calls Cristiano Ronaldo to order

While Cristiano Ronaldo continues to protest against what he sees as Al Nassr’s mismanagement, the Saudi Pro League has broken its silence to set the Portuguese star straight.

Cristiano Ronaldo is on strike in Saudi Arabia. He refused to play against Al-Riyadh (1-0) on Monday. But in recent hours, he has been firmly called out by the Saudi Pro League. In a statement sent to the BBC, a spokesperson for the Saudi league challenged the criticisms made by the Al-Nassr striker.

“The Saudi Pro League is built around a simple principle: every club operates independently under the same rules. Each club has its own board of directors, its own management, and its own sporting command structure. Decisions regarding recruitment, spending, and strategy are the responsibility of these clubs, within a financial system designed to ensure financial sustainability and competitive balance. This system applies equally across the entire league,” explained the spokesperson for the Saudi governing body.
