A woman in her 60s died on Sunday as sirens sounded across Israel and the nation began the second day of Operation Roaring Lion.

The woman was evacuated to the emergency department at Ichilov Hospital after experiencing shortness of breath while making her way to a safe room.

She was transported by MDA as resuscitation efforts were underway.

Despite the medical team’s efforts to save her, doctors were forced to pronounce her dead.

MDA responds to hit near Highway 38

Magen David Adom (MDA) responded to one hit in Israeli territory, near Highway 38 in Beit Shemesh. According to the report, people were only slightly injured, with no one needing hospital evacuation for further treatment.

The Health Ministry reported that, as of 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2026, a total of 456 people have been evacuated to hospitals since the start of Operation Roaring Lion.

No other casualties were reported by MDA, with responders addressing injuries that occurred as people were on their way to protected areas, but not related to any missile strikes.
