It’s about to be a <\/span>Britney Spears<\/a>-filled fall, with the release of her <\/span>upcoming memoir<\/a> and the return of her iconic 2002 film, <\/span>Crossroads<\/span><\/em>, to movie theaters!<\/span><\/p>\n Trafalgar Releasing, Sony Music Entertainment and RCA Records announced last week that the teen road trip film — which marked Spears’ feature film debut — will return to cinemas worldwide on Oct. 23 and Oct. 25, for a special global fan event in over 875 locations across 24 countries. Additionally,\u00a0AMC Theatres will also offer a special VIP experience in <\/span>20 select cities<\/a>\u00a0on Oct. 23\u00a0that includes a screening of the film and a special edition of Spears’ <\/span>The Woman in Me<\/span><\/em> book with event ticket purchase.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Tickets for the\u00a0<\/span>Crossroads Global Fan Event<\/span><\/em> <\/span>are on sale now<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On Thursday, the film distributer dropped a freshly-edited trailer in celebration of the upcoming theatrical release.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Crossroads<\/span><\/em>, which was written by <\/span>Shonda Rhimes<\/a> and directed by Tamra Davis, stars Spears as Lucy, a recent high school graduate who embarks on a road trip with childhood best friends Kit (<\/span>Zoe Saldana<\/a>) and Mimi (<\/span>Taryn Manning<\/a>) on a search for herself and her estranged mother, played by <\/span>Kim Cattrall<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The film also stars\u00a0Anson Mount, Dan Aykroyd and Justin Long.<\/span><\/p>\n The\u00a0<\/span>Crossroads<\/span><\/em> Global Fan Event\u00a0will include a bonus sing-along of two of Spears’ <\/span>Crossroads<\/span><\/em> songs following the film, which have never been seen on the big screen.\u00a0The film’s rerelease coincides with the release of Spears’ upcoming memoir, <\/span>The Woman in Me<\/em><\/a>, which is due out on Oct. 24.<\/span><\/p>\n “I am beyond thrilled that Sony Music Entertainment, RCA Records and Trafalgar Releasing are re-releasing\u00a0<\/span>Crossroads<\/span><\/em>\u00a0in movie theaters,” Davis said in a statement. “I recently re-watched\u00a0<\/span>Crossroads<\/span><\/em>\u00a0and was so enthralled with the time capsule of nostalgia that this incredible ensemble cast brings to the screen. Britney is absolutely breathtaking to watch, and Shonda is showing us her early expertise in writing complicated female characters. We had the best time in the world making this picture and the connection the actresses bring to their performances shows in every frame. The music will undoubtedly have audiences dancing and singing along and I know everyone will have as much fun watching these scenes as we had making them.
