Jon Stewart will return to host \u201cThe Daily Show\u201d on Monday nights during the 2024 election campaign, the network announced on Wednesday, bringing the comedian back to the television program that he turned into appointment viewing.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Daily Show\u201d has been without a permanent host since Trevor Noah stepped down<\/a> in 2022. The first episode with Stewart, who left the show in 2015<\/a> after serving as host since 1999, will air on Comedy Central on Feb. 12 and on Paramount+ the following day.<\/p>\n Stewart will also executive produce all episodes of \u201cThe Daily Show.\u201d The episodes from Tuesday to Thursday will be hosted by a rotating lineup of the show\u2019s news team.<\/p>\n Chris McCarthy, the chief executive of Showtime\/MTV Entertainment Studios, said in a statement that Stewart was the voice of a generation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWe are honored to have him return to Comedy Central\u2019s \u2018The Daily Show\u2019 to help us all make sense of the insanity and division roiling the country,\u201d McCarthy said. He appeared to acknowledge his return to \u201cThe Daily Show\u201d in a social media post<\/a> shortly after the news was announced. \u201cExcited for the future!\u201d he said while making a joke about college football.<\/p>\n Since Noah\u2019s last show<\/a>, Comedy Central has used guest hosts to fill the void<\/a>.
