Kaley Cuoco<\/a> and\u00a0<\/span>Tom Pelphrey<\/a> are mourning the loss of their beloved pup, King, who recently died after health issues.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In a post on Instagram Thursday, Cuoco, 38, shared the sad news that the first-ever dog she adopted with Pelphrey, 41, had died, just a year and a half after they rescued him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “\ud83e\udd79There are no words to describe our dearest little Kingy. He was the first dog <\/span>@tommypelphrey<\/a> and I rescued together and honestly the most special,” the\u00a0<\/span>Big Bang Theory <\/span><\/em>alum wrote in her post. “I saw him online shaking in a shelter in Atlanta while I was away in Germany, and asked the shelter to hold him because we just had to have him. A month later we were in Atlanta for Tom’s work, and we spent an entire day driving hours to go pick up King. It was \u2665\ufe0f !”<\/span><\/p>\n In her post, the actress shared 10 adorable photos of King, many including herself, Pelphrey and their nearly 1-year-old daughter, Matilda. One photo also shows King among two of the couple’s other dogs, Miss Opal, Ruby, Blueberry, Larry, Red and Shirley.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “We did not have him nearly long enough. What started as a 6 pound, skinny, wouldn’t drink water, fur less, scared dog, turned into a chubby\u00a0 hilarious, side plopping, eye kissing part of our family. The hardest part about adopting seniors with medical issues, is we truly don’t know how long we have,” Cuoco continued.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In July, King underwent a procedure to remove a foxtail plant that was “days away from piercing his heart,” which the\u00a0<\/span>Flight Attendant<\/span><\/em> actress used as an opportunity to warn other pet parents about. Since then, the pet appears to have lived a relatively healthy life until his death.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n While she says she is sad to have lost the adorable animal so soon, Cuoco wrote in her post that she is counting her lucky stars that they got the time with King that they did.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “All I know is Kingy gave us the most joy over the last year in a half and we could not love him more. \ud83c\udf08 to everyone that helped with Kingy’s journey along the way, thank you. I urge you to rescue your next best friend \u2764\ufe0f\u200d\ud83e\ude79 He has left his paw print on our family’s hearts forever \ud83d\udc3e,” she wrote.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
