US Open champion Wyndham Clark broke the course record as he stormed to the top of the PGA Tour’s Pebble Beach Pro-Am leaderboard.<\/b><\/p>\n
The American, 30, holds the third-round lead on 17 under after his stunning 12-under-par round of 60.<\/p>\n
Clark shot 28 on the front nine including four birdies and two eagles.<\/p>\n
After four birdies and a bogey on the back nine on Saturday he needed an eagle on the par-five 18th for a 59 but missed a 26ft putt.<\/p>\n
The previous course record was 62, set by Tom Kite in 1983 and equalled by fellow Americans David Duval in 1997 and Patrick Cantlay in 2021 as well as Austrian Matthias Schwab in 2022.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Northern Ireland’s world number two Rory McIlroy sits at two under after he carded a third-round 69 following opening rounds of 71 and 74.<\/p>\n
Sweden’s Ryder Cup star Ludvig Aberg, who was tied for the overnight lead, sits a shot behind Clark in second place after a five-under 67.<\/p>\n
American world number one Scottie Scheffler, who was also tied for the second-round lead carded a 70 and sits on 13 under, while England Justin Rose is the highest placed Briton on 11 under.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
