Despite his strong hand, Mullins is taking nothing for granted as he approaches the 100-winner landmark.<\/p>\n
“It’s not something I think anyone in racing ever thought of so I don’t know,” said Mullins, who with 94 wins is 21 clear of nearest challenger Henderson for Festival triumphs.<\/p>\n
“We’ve gone one or two days without a winner at Cheltenham and no-one is gifted winners at Cheltenham. It’s only when you go back every year – you sort of forget how hard it is to win there.”<\/p>\n
Irish-trained runners are expected to dominate again, with only 10 of last year’s winners from Britain.<\/p>\n
In fact Mullins is favourite to have more success than the entire British contingent.<\/p>\n
The going at Prestbury Park is expected to be testing for the start of the meeting after heavy rainfall in the weeks leading up to the Festival.<\/p>\n
Another 4-6mm of rain is expected on Tuesday, with a mixed weather forecast for the remainder of the week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
