SEOUL — Jessica Pegula<\/a> advanced to the semifinals of the Korea Open by beating fellow American Claire Liu<\/a> 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 Friday.<\/p>\n

The fourth-ranked Pegula, looking to win her fourth title of the season, will next play Yanina Wickmayer<\/a>. She beat Polina Kudermetova<\/a> 6-3, 6-1.<\/p>\n

Another American, Emina Bektas<\/a>, also advanced to the semifinals. Bektas defeated Kimberly Birrell<\/a> 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.<\/p>\n

The 116th-ranked Bektas will play Yuan Yue<\/a>, who eliminated fourth-seeded Marie Bouzkova<\/a> 7-5, 7-6 (7).<\/p>\n

Zhengzhou Open<\/strong><\/hl2><\/p>\n

Daria Kasatkina<\/a> advanced to the semifinals of the Zhengzhou Open with a walkover after Ons Jabeur<\/a> withdrew because of a knee injury she sustained in the second round.<\/p>\n

“I’m so sorry that I have to withdraw because my knee is not feeling so great, and I just want to say I loved my time in Zhengzhou,” Jabeur said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Kasatkina will play Barbora Krejcikova<\/a> in Saturday’s semifinals. Krejcikova was leading Lesia Tsurenko<\/a> 6-3 when the Ukrainian player retired from the match.<\/p>\n

Jasmine Paolini<\/a>, who eliminated top-seeded Victoria Azarenka<\/a> in the previous round, continued her run by beating Laura Siegemund<\/a> 6-0, 7-5.<\/p>\n

Paolini will next face Zheng Qinwen<\/a>, who beat Anhelina Kalinina<\/a> 6-3, 6-2.<\/p>\n

Hong Kong Open<\/strong><\/hl2><\/p>\n

Martina Trevisan<\/a> defeated third-seeded Elise Mertens<\/a> 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the semifinals of the Hong Kong Open.<\/p>\n

Trevisan, ranked 42nd, will next play Katerina Siniakova<\/a>. She beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova<\/a> 7-6 (1), 6-4.<\/p>\n

Leylah Fernandez<\/a> reached the semifinals for the first time in 19 months by beating Linda Fruhvirtova<\/a> 7-6 (2), 6-2. She will next face fifth-seeded Anna Blinkova<\/a>, who eliminated Sara Sorribes Tormo<\/a> 7-6 (3), 6-3.<\/p>\n
