Joshua Jackson<\/a>‘s heading back to network television.<\/span><\/p>\n ET has learned that the 45-year-old actor is set to star in the titular role for <\/span>Ryan Murphy<\/a>‘s new ABC series, <\/span>Dr. Odyssey<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n The straight-to-series order from 29th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television will mark Jackson’s return to network television since he starred in all five seasons of Fox’s sci-fi series, <\/span>Fringe,\u00a0<\/span><\/em>from 2008 to 2013. Jackson’s not only set to star in <\/span>Dr. Odyssey,<\/span><\/em>\u00a0but he’ll also serve as executive producer.<\/span><\/p>\n The drama is currently set to debut this fall. The series concept and logline information is not being shared at this time, and additional details will be made available at a later date.<\/span><\/p>\n Deadline<\/em><\/a>, who was first to report the pair linking up for the new ABC series, is reporting that the new series is believed to be a medical procedural set on a cruise ship.<\/span><\/p>\n Murphy — the prolific TV producer perhaps best known for his <\/span>American Horror Story<\/span><\/em> and <\/span>American Crime Story<\/span><\/em> anthologies — also helms the drama series <\/span>9-1-1<\/span><\/em>, which initially began airing on Fox before heading to ABC.<\/span><\/p>\n Per <\/span>Deadline<\/span><\/em>, Paris Barclay (<\/span>Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story<\/span><\/em>, <\/span>Glee<\/span><\/em>) is attached to <\/span>Dr. Odyssey<\/span><\/em> as director and executive producer. Eric Paquette, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson and Nissa Diederich will also executive produce.<\/span><\/p>\n Jackson is best known for TV roles such as\u00a0<\/span>Dawson’s Creek<\/span><\/em>,\u00a0<\/span>The Affair<\/span><\/em>\u00a0and, most recently, in the Paramount+ drama\u00a0<\/span>Fatal Attraction<\/span><\/em>. He also starred in the Peacock drama\u00a0<\/span>Dr. Death<\/span><\/em>, which earned him a 2022 Critics Choice Award.<\/span><\/p>\n It’s been a big casting year for Jackson.
