Juan Pablo Galavis<\/a> played the role of a proud dad during Sunday’s final audition episode of <\/span>American Idol<\/em><\/a>. The Bachelor alum’s 14-year-old daughter, Camila Galavis, auditioned for the ABC music competition and became the youngest contestant on this season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The freshman in high school introduced her reality star dad, telling judges <\/span>Lionel Richie<\/a>, <\/span>Katy Perry<\/a>\u00a0and <\/span>Luke Bryan<\/a>, “My dad, he’s a manager in the social media industry because he was on <\/span>The Bachelor<\/span><\/em>.”<\/span><\/p>\n After Camila revealed who her famous dad is, Bryan quipped of Juan Pablo, “He’s dreamy!”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Of course, Juan Pablo made a cameo, sitting in on his daughter’s audition. He claimed that he was hesitant to have his only child head into the world of television.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “She’s been singing since she’s little. The opportunity came. She wanted to do it, and I said, ‘I don’t know if you’re old enough.’ That was last year. They said, ‘Maybe next year,'” Juan Pablo recalled.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Singing “Rabia” by Joaquina, Camila belted out the track as Juan Pablo was seen looking like a proper stage dad and mouthing along to the lyrics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “You’ve got a good voice. It sounds a little young. It’s very, like, it’s got lots of personality,” Perry told Camila. “It’s very youthful. I’m just looking for some of those notes that could come out and really compete with the other contestants.”<\/span><\/p>\n Saying he loved Camila’s “confidence” and “personality,” Bryan praised Camila’s sound, noting the pop tone to her voice was “very listenable.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “I think your biggest hurdle is the big high notes are still giving you a little bit of trouble. I mean, you’re so young. I just don’t know if it’s ready yet,” Bryan admitted, before somewhat backtracking. “Let me say one thing, I think the right producer right now could take your voice and cut a hit album on you right now, but in this competition, I think you’re gonna get swallowed up a little bit.”<\/span><\/p>\n Though Richie voted no to send Camila forward, Perry voted yes, saying, “The biggest growing genre in music is Spanish music. You are authentically that. So it’s a yes from me.”<\/span><\/p>\n It came down to Bryan who said, “I wrote, ‘No,’ on my page but then I told you the right producer could give you a hit song, so I’m giving you a yes, just based on that. Because you’ve got a radio tone.”<\/span><\/p>\n As the judges all hugged Camila and told her she was going to Hollywood, Bryan reiterated, “You barely made it in.”<\/span><\/p>\n Proud dad Juan Pablo looked teary watching the response to his daughter’s performance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Bachelor Nation first met Juan Pablo on Desiree Hartsock’s season of\u00a0<\/span>The Bachelorette<\/i><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/i>in 2013. The following year, Juan Pablo led season 18 of\u00a0<\/span>The Bachelor<\/span><\/i>. He ended the season by choosing Nikki Ferrell, though he did not propose. The pair ended their relationship later that year.<\/span><\/p>\n Juan Pablo’s second runner-up,\u00a0<\/span>Andi Dorfman<\/a>, became the next Bachelorette, while his first runner-up,\u00a0<\/span>Clare Crawley<\/a>, went on to compete on\u00a0<\/span>Bachelor in Paradise<\/i><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/i>and\u00a0<\/span>Bachelor Winter Games<\/span><\/i>, before leading her own season of\u00a0<\/span>The Bachelorette\u00a0<\/span><\/i>in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n While Clare got engaged to Dale Moss on her season of the show, the pair eventually called off their relationship.
