even missing consecutive days on day 205 and 206.<\/p>\n<p>But in true Hardest Geezer style, he was not to be stopped.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8220;I took a couple of days to get some scans. now called X &#8211; in 2022 [GUUS VAN VEEN]<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>After overcoming everything in his path, it was a single piece of paper &#8211; an Algerian visa &#8211; that cast doubt over the entire challenge on day 278.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Cook was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-england-sussex-68068966?xtor=AL-72-%5Bpartner%5D-%5Byahoo.north.america%5D-%5Blink%5D-%5Bnews%5D-%5Bbizdev%5D-%5Bisapi%5D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:forced to halt;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">forced to halt<\/a> while he waited to find out his fate as to whether he could secure permission to cross the border into Algeria from Mauritania.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If we don&#8217;t get the visas, then it is game over,&#8221; But an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-england-sussex-68202917?xtor=AL-72-%5Bpartner%5D-%5Byahoo.north.america%5D-%5Blink%5D-%5Bnews%5D-%5Bbizdev%5D-%5Bisapi%5D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:end date;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">end date<\/a> was set: 7 April, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Ramping up his mileage to make up for lost time, Mr &#8211; as he set off for Tunisia&#8217;s most northerly point.<\/p>\n<p>Joined by supporters from across the world for the final marathon, Mr Cook completed the challenge.<\/p>\n<p>The celebrations
