You know reality in a beautiful way, and you use it a lot in the way you then portray it.<\/p>\n ZENDAYA <\/strong>While that\u2019s true, I think I overly do it. I\u2019m overly conscious of everything else around me.<\/p>\n GUADAGNINO <\/strong>Because Z is a director. I told you many times, and I repeat it now to The Times.<\/p>\n ZENDAYA <\/strong>I love being on set because it is not just creatively stimulating, but it\u2019s one of the few places where I feel free. Whatever that thing in my brain is where it\u2019s overly critical and self-conscious, that is the one place where I can be spontaneous and exist for the purpose of just creating something with other people and feel no guilt about it. But I\u2019m not at the place where I\u2019m quite confident enough to step into directing.<\/p>\n I\u2019m still blown away when I watch people like Luca: There\u2019s five people coming up to you, asking you, \u201cThis or that?\u201d or \u201cWhat\u2019s next?\u201d and he has to have an answer. I\u2019d find myself like, \u201cI just want to make everybody happy, what do you need?\u201d Once I feel more confident in my assertiveness or decision-making, then I feel like then I\u2019ll be able to take that step.<\/p>\n
