NCIS: Hawai’i<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/em>is saying aloha. The\u00a0<\/span>NCIS<\/span><\/em>\u00a0spinoff has been canceled by CBS amid its third season, ET confirms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Following the news, sources told\u00a0<\/span>Deadline<\/em><\/a>\u00a0that the show’s season 3 finale was not intended to be a series ender, and will conclude with a tease for season 4 drama that’ll never play out. However, a major cliffhanger is not forthcoming, according to the outlet.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>Vanessa Lachey<\/a>-led spinoff was the fourth for the\u00a0<\/span>NCIS<\/span><\/em>\u00a0franchise — the\u00a0<\/span>New Orleans\u00a0<\/span><\/em>and\u00a0<\/span>Los Angeles\u00a0<\/span><\/em>versions ended in 2021 and 2023, respectively — and the first with a woman at its forefront.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n As a whole, though, the franchise is a successful one.\u00a0<\/span>NCIS<\/span><\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>NCIS: Sydney\u00a0<\/span><\/em>have both been renewed, for their 22nd and 2nd seasons, respectively. There’s also <\/span>a spinoff<\/a> in the works at Paramount+, which will see\u00a0<\/span>Cote de Pablo<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Michael Weatherly<\/a>\u00a0reprise their fan-favorite roles as Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo.<\/span><\/p>\n When ET spoke to Lachey about her role on\u00a0<\/span>Hawai’i<\/span><\/em>, <\/span>she gushed<\/a> about being “a part of this incredible franchise,” which aired its\u00a0<\/span>1,000th episode earlier<\/a> this moth.<\/span><\/p>\n “To be the newcomer — the baby at three seasons — and to be able to celebrate 1,000 episodes of a television show, I don’t know if people really know how big of a feat that is,” Lachey told ET. “… I’m just honored and I’m constantly humbled and I’m very grateful.
