{"id":27604,"date":"2024-04-27T07:31:13","date_gmt":"2024-04-27T11:31:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newssprinters.com\/index.php\/world\/russian-troops-advanced-and-captured-large-parts-of-village-after-apparent-ukrainian-blunder-left-front-line-unmanned\/27\/04\/2024\/"},"modified":"2024-04-27T07:31:13","modified_gmt":"2024-04-27T11:31:13","slug":"russian-troops-advanced-and-captured-large-parts-of-village-after-apparent-ukrainian-blunder-left-front-line-unmanned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newssprinters.com\/index.php\/world\/russian-troops-advanced-and-captured-large-parts-of-village-after-apparent-ukrainian-blunder-left-front-line-unmanned\/27\/04\/2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Russian troops advanced and captured large parts of village after apparent Ukrainian blunder left front line unmanned"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<ul class=\"caas-list caas-list-bullet\">\n<li>\n<p>A mistake by Ukrainian troops appears to have let Russian forces advance and capture large parts of a village.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The incident occurred during a rotation between Ukraine&#8217;s 47th and 115th Mechanized Brigades.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>It marks the second time a Ukrainian unit has failed on the eastern front in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A blunder by Ukrainian troops appears to have allowed Russian forces to advance and capture large parts of a village unopposed.<\/p>\n<p>Russian troops were able to take most of Ocheretyne, northwest of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/russia-pushing-past-avdiivka-before-ukraine-can-make-new-defenses-2024-2?utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=yahoo.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Avdiivka in eastern Ukraine;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Avdiivka in eastern Ukraine<\/a>, after an apparent rotational error involving Ukraine&#8217;s elite 47th Mechanized Brigade and its 115th Mechanized Brigade.<\/p>\n<p>The 47th Mechanized Brigade was due to be relieved by the 115th along the front line just east of Ocheretyne.<\/p>\n<p>But as the 47th pulled back, Russia&#8217;s 30th Motor Rifle Brigade attacked, taking advantage of a gap left by the pending arrival of the 115th.<\/p>\n<p>The commander of the 47th, Mykola Melnyk, famed for losing a leg during the summer offensive, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/permalink.php?id=100000878673787&amp;story_fbid=pfbid02SeTajvQQztX44qwHJD7QC6Y1i8PiWDqYoMt4nuU7CTpfpu7AAC2281str3nUSmr9l\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:wrote on Facebook;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">wrote on Facebook<\/a>: &#8220;The drastic advancement of the Russians became possible because certain units just fucked off.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hope they get retrained as assault troops,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Vadym Chornyy, a spokesperson for the 115th Brigade, told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/eb8c506c-181e-407a-8148-2ce0b1ac7cd6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Financial Times;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Financial Times<\/a> that the allegations were &#8220;not true.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The unit did not abandon its position,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Melnyk said the only reason Russia was unable to continue its advance was because the 47th Brigade rejoined the fight.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The holes were clogged by those who were planning on taking a break,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The 47th brigade is back in business.
