Anderson&#8217;s wife, actress Saxon Trainor, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C7sighRJm09\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">took to Instagram<\/a><span> to announce the news.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;My husband Erich died this morning,&#8221; Trainor wrote on an Instagram post on June 1. &#8220;I am sharing my brother-in-law Michael O\u2019Malley\u2019s words as I am too bereft now to write anything.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The message shared that Anderson had experienced a &#8220;brutal struggle with cancer&#8221; prior to his death.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span>Schitt&#8217;s Creek<\/span><\/em><span> actress Emily Hampshire commented on the post, writing, &#8220;I\u2019m so sorry for your huge loss.
