The 51st annual\u00a0<\/span>Daytime Emmy Awards<\/a>\u00a0honored the best in daytime TV, including talk shows, soap operas, travel and culinary programs and more. And it was also a historic night.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dick Van Dyke made history after becoming the oldest actor at 98 years old to win a Daytime Emmy Award. He scored in the Guest Performance in a Daytime Drama Series category for his role as Mystery Man\/Timothy Robicheaux on <\/span>Days of Our Lives<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Am I really the oldest? I didn’t know I was the oldest,” Van Dyke <\/span>exclusively told ET<\/a> ahead of the night’s festivities. “I’ll be darn. I think I’m the last of my generation, really. I’m 98. I have almost all my marbles. I can’t remember what I had for breakfast.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The night also belonged to <\/span>General Hospital<\/span><\/em>, which hauled in the most awards with four Daytime Emmys for Best Directing, Best Writing, Best Support Performance and Best Drama Series.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ceremony — held at Los Angeles’ Westin Bonaventure Hotel on June 7 — was hosted by ET’s own\u00a0<\/span>Kevin Frazier<\/a>\u00a0and Nischelle Turner, marking the\u00a0<\/span>third year in a row<\/a>\u00a0that the co-hosts have helmed the star-studded ceremony.<\/span><\/p>\n

A 2023 Daytime Emmy winner<\/a>, Entertainment Tonight made a bit of history as well after bringing home <\/span>the first-ever<\/a> Outstanding Daytime Personality Emmy. ET also won in the Outstanding Entertainment News Series category <\/span>for the fifth straight year<\/a> and ninth overall.<\/span><\/p>\n

Night two featured the Daytime Emmy Creative Arts & Lifestyle Awards held on Saturday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
