Consecutive runs of eight weeks or longer are rare on the chart. The last releases to do so were both by Morgan Wallen: \u201c<a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/05\/30\/arts\/music\/morgan-wallen-one-thing-at-a-time-chart.html\" title=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">One Thing at a Time<\/a>,\u201d which logged 12 last year, and \u201c<a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/03\/22\/arts\/music\/morgan-wallen-dangerous-billboard.html\" title=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Dangerous: The Double Album<\/a>,\u201d with 10 in 2021. For another example you have to go back to Drake\u2019s \u201c<a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/07\/05\/arts\/music\/drake-views-ninth-week-chart-lemonade-beyonce.html\" title=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Views<\/a>,\u201d which led the chart for nine straight weeks at No. 1 in 2016.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Also this week, Eilish\u2019s \u201cHit Me Hard and Soft\u201d is No. 2 in its fourth week out, while \u201cBrat,\u201d the latest from the British pop singer-songwriter <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/06\/07\/arts\/music\/playlist-sabrina-carpenter-charli-xcx-halsey.html\" title=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Charli XCX<\/a>, opens in third place with the equivalent of 82,000 sales.
