Mia Goth<\/a> still has her sights set on joining the MCU in the <\/span>planned Blade<\/em> movie<\/a>, despite the slew of recent production shake-ups.<\/span><\/p>\n Goth, 30, walked the red carpet at <\/span>the premiere of her new film, MaXXXine<\/em><\/a>, at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Monday, where she spoke with ET’s Ash Crossan and addressed whether or not she’s optimistic that Marvel Studios can still get<\/span> Blade<\/span><\/em> off the ground.<\/span><\/p>\n “Yeah, I am. Very much so,” Goth said confidently.<\/span><\/p>\n Marvel’s <\/span>Blade<\/span><\/em> — which is set to star\u00a0<\/span>Mahershala Ali<\/a> as the titular daywalker\/vampire hunter and Goth as the sinister vampiric Lilith — has faced numerous delays and changes over the past few years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Despite still being slated for release in November 2025, pre-production was delayed by <\/span>the WGA strike in 2023<\/a>, and has lost two directors since it was scheduled to begin production back in 2022 — including\u00a0Bassam Tariq and then\u00a0<\/span>Yann Demange earlier this month<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, in nearly the same amount of time since <\/span>Blade<\/span><\/em> was supposed to start production, Goth has appeared in all three of director Ti West’s horror films in his <\/span>X <\/span><\/em>trilogy, beginning with<\/span> X<\/span><\/em>, followed by the prequel, <\/span>Pearl<\/span><\/em>, and now <\/span>MaXXXine<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n In <\/span>MaXXXine<\/span><\/em>, Goth stars as the titular\u00a0Maxine Minx — a role she first played in <\/span>X<\/span><\/em> — an ambitious actress seeking fame in the dark and lurid landscape of Los Angeles in the mid-1980s.<\/span><\/p>\n According to Goth, Maxine’s career over the course of the trilogy has oddly mirrored her own career in unexpected ways.<\/span><\/p>\n “In a very strange way, actually.\u00a0When we started filming this trilogy four years ago, I was in a very different place in my life,” Goth shared. “And from the moment I read <\/span>X<\/span><\/em> for the first time I connected with her.”<\/span><\/p>\n “We’ve been on a similar trajectory and I think it’s just helped inform the work,” she added.<\/span><\/p>\n MaXXXine — <\/span><\/em>co-starring\u00a0Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Moses Sumney, Halsey, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito, Sophie Thatcher and Kevin Bacon —\u00a0 <\/span>hits theaters July 5.<\/a><\/p>\n RELATED CONTENT:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
