More disturbing details have emerged after a 19-year-old Walmart employee was found dead<\/a> in the store\u2019s walk-in bakery oven over the weekend.<\/p>\n In roughly 90 seconds of emergency call recordings released by the Daily Mail on Tuesday,<\/a> a dispatcher tells peers about a request to respond to a female \u201clocked in an oven in the bakery\u201d at a Halifax, Nova Scotia, Walmart.<\/p>\n \u201cOven is on, unsure if the staff are able to turn it off,\u201d they relayed.<\/p>\n Another dispatcher later told co-workers, \u201cThe person trapped in the… on their… do we have the powers off for that, does the staff want to turn the power off? \u2026 In case we do make contact.\u201d<\/p>\n In response, a separate emergency dispatcher says the woman \u201cwas out of the oven upon arrival\u201d and law enforcement was handling the matter.<\/p>\n On Tuesday, the city of Halifax released a statement,<\/a> telling the public that regional police are investigating the incident along with Canada\u2019s Centre for Occupational Health and Safety and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.<\/p>\n The statement noted that the multi-agency investigation is \u201ccomplex\u201d and may take a \u201csignificant amount of time\u201d to resolve.<\/p>\n Though the city\u2019s statement did not name the deceased, a GoFundMe<\/a> appeal set up by an executive of the Maritime Sikh Society identified her as Gursimran Kaur, an Indian national.<\/p>\n Both Kaur and her mother had been employed at Walmart for two years, according to a report from India-based outlet NewsX.<\/a><\/p>\n
