A local veteran is thanking businesses and children for showing their appreciation on Veterans Day.<\/p>\n
David Marr is a retired army veteran who says he has been in Bosnia, Kuwait, Africa, Iraq and Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
\u2018It\u2019s really special today\u2019 \u2013 Annual ceremony pays tribute to veterans at PA Soldiers\u2019 & Sailors\u2019 Home <\/a><\/p>\n He said cards were received to a class at the VA Medical Center from local businesses and children thanking the vets for their service on Veterans Day.<\/p>\n \u201cI would just like to say thank you to all the kids and the businesses who had sent us the cards thanking us for the work that we have done supporting our country, protecting us. So thank you so much. It means a lot to me from the bottom of my heart, so thank you,\u201d said Marr.<\/p>\n Marr said whether a vet is walking down the street or at the mall, it\u2019s a great benefit to hear someone say \u201cthank you for your service.\u201d<\/p>\n Copyright 2024 Nexstar Media, Inc.
