Read the full story on Backfire News<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n While you undoubtedly have seen a Mercedes 190 E Evolution II, the sad reality is most out there are clones and not factory homologation specials<\/a>. That\u2019s right, many of them are created using a regular 190 E and a body kit<\/a>. But this one that\u2019s for sale in Germany, the motherland of Mercedes-Benz, is represented as number 295 of the 502 homologation special cars.<\/p>\n Watch a Porsche 964 Turbo get detailed like never before.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n This is a rare opportunity for a collector or enthusiast own one of the few consumer versions of the DTM racecar which claimed the championship in 1991 and 1992. Among the many performance enhancements<\/a> are Brembo four-piston brakes, a tighter suspension, and of course the telltale aero package featuring that large rear wing.<\/p>\n Of course, a large part of the Evo II\u2019s success is attributed to the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Developed by Cosworth, it features more aggressive camshafts, improved fuel management over the Evo I, and an optimized intake. Peak output is measure at 235-horsepower, an impressive amount for the time.<\/p>\n In race spec, the cars hit even harder with 350-hp. Being a consumer vehicle, this one is optioned with a number of creature comforts which include air conditioning, heated front seats, power sunroof, and rear speakers.<\/p>\n With only three owners in its history, this Evo II is represented as having been pampered during its life. The photos of its exterior, interior, and engine compartment seem to square with that. No major blemishes are visible.<\/p>\n That might be due in part to the current owner having extensive work done, including refinishing the Blue Black Metallic paint as well as addressing any mechanical issues.<\/p>\n Currently, the odometer reads 169,000 kilometers or just shy of 105,000 miles. It comes with French registration documents but apparently is being stored in Germany. This is supposed to be a turn-key Evolution II, so we expect someone will snatch it up soon enough at $185,000 USD.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
