UNITED NATIONS \u2014\u00a0President Joe Biden\u00a0made his case before the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday that the world must remain united in defending Ukraine against Russian aggression, warning that no nation can be secure if \u201cwe allow Ukraine to be carved up\u201d as he tries to rally support for Kyiv\u2019s effort to repel\u00a0a nearly 19-month-old Russian invasion<\/a>\u00a0that has no end in sight.<\/p>\n The U.S. president called on world leaders to not let support for Ukraine diminish, arguing that Russia is counting on countries to grow tired of prolonged conflict in Kyiv which will \u201callow it to brutalize Ukraine without consequence.\u201d Russia alone is standing in the way of a resolution, Biden argued, saying that Moscow\u2019s price for peace was \u201cUkraine\u2019s capitulation, Ukraine\u2019s territory and Ukraine\u2019s children.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI ask you this: If we abandon the core principles of the United States to appease an aggressor, can any member state in this body feel confident that they are protected?\u201d Biden said in his address. \u201cIf we allow Ukraine to be carved up, is the independence of any nation secure?<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cI\u2019d respectfully suggest the answer is no.\u201d<\/p>\n
