So now your name is Mark Ruby.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Hern\u00e1ndez said he objected to Musk \u201chaving total access to our government,\u201d but Johnson praised the billionaire for his management of SpaceX, which he said was \u201cdoing incredible things in terms of explosions, and with regard to rocket debris.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">When Hern\u00e1ndez said that a businessman shouldn\u2019t necessarily be running the country, Johnson answered, \u201cYou\u2019re right. We tried that in 2016 it didn\u2019t work. Trump 45, not a great president. But now we\u2019ve got Trump 47. I\u2019m older, wiser and frankly, older.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Johnson went on to tell Hern\u00e1ndez he was doing a great job. \u201cYou\u2019re the goat,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cYou\u2019re the scapegoat. But it\u2019s still a type of goat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Hern\u00e1ndez said that he was close to striking a deal with the Panamanian government to regain control of the Panama Canal, but Johnson said he didn\u2019t want it anymore. \u201cWhat I\u2019d really love is Thailand,\u201d Johnson said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<aside class=\"css-ew4tgv\" aria-label=\"companion column\"\/><\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"companionColumn-2\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">While he continued to ramble on about \u201cThe White Lotus,\u201d the camera zoomed in on Hern\u00e1ndez, letting us hear inside his head, where the theme to \u201cCurb Your Enthusiasm\u201d was playing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">In return, Hern\u00e1ndez spoke about American foreign policy, while the camera zoomed in on a bored Johnson, allowing us to hear him think to himself: \u201cWhat is this?\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m thinking something and not saying it out loud.\u201d He added: \u201cI should do this more often. I won\u2019t, but I should.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">They were joined by Mike Myers, the \u201cS.N.L.\u201d alum, reprising his role as Musk, who variously tented his fingers and ran in place. (\u201cIt\u2019s his little dance, we let him do it,\u201d Johnson explained. \u201cIt\u2019s his least unsettling trait.\u201d)<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">When we could hear inside Myers\u2019s thoughts, we heard him say, \u201cPhase 1 of my plan is complete: ingratiate yourself to the president and take over the media.\u201d But there were downsides as well: \u201cMy Tesla stock is crashing and my personal net worth just dropped by $100 billion.\u201d As these words were said, Myers put a finger to his mouth, <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=EJR1H5tf5wE\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Evil-style<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Offering some final advice, Johnson said, \u201cElon, stay in your lane. Now 38, Lady Gaga said this was \u201cscientifically the best age for a female pop star to be,\u201d adding that most are over 40. \u201cChappell Roan is 58,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd Charli XCX, she\u2019s 75. Tate McRae is my biological grandmother.\u201d 2013.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">She told viewers that her last hosting appearance, from 2013, had \u201caged amazingly.\u201d With an audible twinge in her voice, she added, \u201cThere\u2019s no need to Google \u2018S.N.L.\u2019 2013 Lady Gaga featuring R. We can only imagine the hours of effort that went into this production, whose seemingly innocent premise gives way to a dark (but decidedly funny) denouement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<aside class=\"css-ew4tgv\" aria-label=\"companion column\"\/><\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"companionColumn-6\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<h2 class=\"css-1u37br4 eoo0vm40\" id=\"link-fd29bf3\">Weekend Update jokes of the week<\/h2>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Over at the Weekend Update desk, the anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che riffed on the diplomatic rift between the United States and Canada, and on President Trump\u2019s address to a joint session of Congress.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Jost began:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"css-1ggt3fz etf134l0\">\n<p class=\"css-12wzsk6 evys1bk0\">Tomorrow marks the start of Daylight Saving Time, when we set our clocks ahead, ideally four years. After President Trump spent last week defending our historical best friend, Russia, Trump returned this week to attacking our sworn enemy, Canada. That\u2019s right, those syrup-guzzling, poutine-munching, moose-humping hockey sluts have taken advantage of us far too long. Even right here at \u201cS.N.L.,\u201d American sketch-comedy jobs are being stolen by filthy Canadians. [A picture of Mike Myers playing Elon Musk in the show\u2019s opening sketch popped up on the screen.]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Che continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"css-1ggt3fz etf134l0\">\n<p class=\"css-12wzsk6 evys1bk0\">President Trump addressed a joint session of Congress and claimed that no president has changed government faster than him. Yeah, and nobody changed airport security faster than bin Laden. President Trump also said that he signed an executive order to ban men from playing in women\u2019s sports. But if men aren\u2019t allowed to play women\u2019s sports, explain soccer.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<aside class=\"css-ew4tgv\" aria-label=\"companion column\"\/><\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"companionColumn-7\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<h2 class=\"css-1u37br4 eoo0vm40\" id=\"link-3a7ac349\">Weekend Update desk character of the week<\/h2>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Though his performance was not particularly topical, Mikey Day made a memorable appearance at the Weekend Update desk playing Lord Gaga, a cravat-wearing aristocrat meant to be the husband of Lady Gaga and the source of her title.
