BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) \u2014 A Roger Williams University (RWU) student died Saturday after suffering a medical emergency, the university announced.<\/p>\n
According to an email by RWU, junior Paige Moreau was studying abroad in Florence, Italy when the medical emergency happened.<\/p>\n
\u201cUniversity officials have communicated with Paige\u2019s family to share our condolences and offer our support,\u201d the email read. \u201cThe Moreau family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Florence program for their exceptional care and compassion from the very first call.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe family acknowledged that every person went above and beyond to assist them, and they recognized the extraordinary efforts to save Paige,\u201d the university added.<\/p>\n
A gathering will take place Monday for students to come together and process at the Student Development building\u2019s lounge from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n
RWU said counseling services and resources are available for those in the campus community.<\/p>\n
Funeral services have not been announced at this time. The university said more information will be shared as soon as it\u2019s available.<\/p>\n
