Around 40 people were reportedly affected by the smell, with nine being taken to local hospitals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Eight children and one adult were hospitalized, reportedly with breathing difficulties and skin irritation, but thankfully it doesn&#8217;t seem like any were seriously ill.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Around 200 people were evacuated from the building while Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) hazmat personnel performed a sweep and ventilated the premises, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news.com.au\/national\/victoria\/news\/nine-hospitalised-200-evacuated-after-chemical-incident-at-public-pool-in-melbourne\/news-story\/4ffda8cb6aadcb67d47a8b33408b258f\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:according to News.au;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">according to News.au<\/a>.
