Jeff Bezos and Lauren S\u00e1nchez have already kicked off their wedding festivities<\/a> in Venice, Italy, but not everyone is happy to have them there.<\/p>\n So far, they’ve kept the events to the Amazon founder’s $500 million superyacht, Koru, with a foam party, per the Daily Mail<\/em>‘s photos<\/a>. Still, the June 28 ceremony is irking locals who have already placed protest banners with the messages, “No space for Bezos,” “Veniceland: A playground fit for an oligarch,” and, “If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax.”<\/p>\n Federica Toninelli, a Venetian activist who spearheaded the “No Space for Bezos” movement, told the BBC<\/a>, “Venice is being treated like a showcase, a stage and this wedding is the symbol of the exploitation of the city by outsiders… Venice is now just an asset.
