It\u2019s expected to eventually produce more than 6,000 megawatts of electricity \u2014 double Ethiopia\u2019s current output.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Ethiopia and Egypt have spent years trying to reach an agreement over the dam, which Ethiopia began building in 2011.
