targeted central Israel<\/a> with their “Palestine 2” hypersonic missile on last week Tuesday night, but there is no evidence that it was hypersonic. Hypersonic weapons usually refer to missiles that maneuver at hypersonic speeds over Mach 5. The Houthis also released a statement that “emphasized that these operations come as part of Yemen’s continued support for the Palestinian people and its rejection of the ongoing genocide being committed against them. It reaffirmed the Yemeni people’s determination to fulfill their national and religious duties toward the Palestinian cause.”<\/p>\n
The Houthis said they will continue to back Hamas, continuing to use their “hypersonic and ballistic missiles,” and that they will target Ben-Gurion Airport, as well as Eilat.<\/p>\n
They also said they’re proud of their broader regional confrontation” with Israel.<\/p>\n
These \u201coperations\u201d included \u201cdisrupting air traffic at Lod airport [Ben-Gurion] and preventing Israeli ships from navigating the Red Sea toward the port of Umm al-Rashrash [Eilat] in southern occupied Palestine.\u201d<\/p>\n
The report also said that since the October 7 Hamas massacre, the Houthis have not only issued statements of solidarity but have also taken direct action.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese actions have ranged from missile strikes targeting critical military installations in occupied territories to high-impact naval operations that have disrupted Israeli-linked shipping through the Red Sea,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
