(credit: Ohad Kav)<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cI\u2019m still in the government, even when I sometimes have disputes,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He went on to discuss how several European nations\u2019 pending recognition of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/defense-news\/2025-08-27\/live-updates-865414\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Palestinian state;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Palestinian state<\/a> affected negotiations and the IDF\u2019s Gaza City Operation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cWhen Hamas praises you, as it did with [Emmanuel] Macron, it speaks for itself,\u201d he said, adding that he didn\u2019t understand why the need to recognize a Palestinian state suddenly arose.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cIn the beginning, it was supposed to be under certain conditions,\u201d such as recognizing Israel and making peace. Now, Sa&#8217;ar says he thinks that \u201call conditions were forgotten.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He sees this as a victory for Hamas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cHamas said recognition is the fruit of October 7,\u201d Saar noted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Europe \u201ccannot understand that the Palestinians\u2014all the factions\u2014their ideology is to eliminate the Jewish state,\u201d Saar said.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"mb-4 text-lg font-bold\">Talking about &#8216;two-state solution&#8217;<\/h3>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cIt\u2019s a nice term, \u2018two-state solution.\u2019 First of all, you have a solution. But when you ask, \u2018Do you want a terror state?\u2019 it becomes a different conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He added that the growing Muslim communities in Europe affected the calls to recognize a Palestinian state.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cEurope today has huge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/tags\/islam-in-europe\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Muslim communities;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Muslim communities<\/a>. There are already cells of radical Islam there. It has an effect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The minister goes on to discuss the Gaza Strip, saying that &#8220;the real aid situation has improved dramatically.&#8221; Describing the aid being given to Gazans as not &#8220;humanitarian,&#8221; but &#8220;political.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The minister also says that Israel&#8217;s global reputation in regards to its strength was restored since October 7, saying that &#8220;we changed the entire strategic equation in the Middle East.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Also regarding Israel&#8217;s global image, Sa&#8217;ar said that the country will not &#8220;risk real interests for a temporary period of quiet and better <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/opinion\/article-863717#google_vignette\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:PR;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">PR<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cWe need to survive first.
