European Union foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas said on Tuesday that the bloc’s 27 member states are providing a record amount of military aid for Ukraine.<\/p>\n
“The European Union and our member states have provided almost \u20ac169 billion [$198.7 billion] of financial support since the full-scale war started in 2022,” Kallas said in an address to the European Parliament in the French city of Strasbourg.<\/p>\n
“This includes over \u20ac63 billion in military support for Ukraine,” she added.<\/p>\n
“This year alone, member states will provide more than ever before, \u20ac25 billion to date,” Kallas said.<\/p>\n
EU countries have also provided Ukraine with ammunition, meeting 80% of the EU’s target to deliver 2 million rounds to Kiev.<\/p>\n
“We aim [for] 100% by October,” Kallas said.<\/p>\n
“This is all so that Ukraine can defend itself, can defend its civilians and push back the aggression,” she added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
