At least 51 people have been killed by Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip since dawn, 27 of them in Gaza City, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The Israeli military reported that military operations against “local terrorist organizations” had continued across the coastal region, with the offensive in Gaza City extended.<\/p>\n
Israeli forces had uncovered numerous weapons, among them anti-tank weapons, rockets and explosives, the Israeli military report said.<\/p>\n
“A number of terrorists who posed a threat to the troops were eliminated,” the report said. It added that the Israeli air force had attacked around 120 targets, including military facilities and underground terrorist infrastructure.<\/p>\n
According to the Hamas-controlled health authorities in the region, more than 65,900 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of the current war in October 2023.<\/p>\n
According to WAFA, the majority were women and children. “This toll remains incomplete, as many victims remain trapped under rubble, inaccessible to ambulance and rescue crews,” the WAFA report says.<\/p>\n
The war erupted after Hamas and other organizations conducted a massacre in Israel of around 1,200 people and abducted more than 250 hostages.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
