But an image of firefighters battling a massive blaze shared online was in fact taken more than a year ago in the Kursk region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Fire at Russia&#8217;s gas processing plant following Ukraine&#8217;s drone attack on October 19, 2025,&#8221; reads a Thai-language\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/perma.cc\/P9SC-QR2E\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Facebook post;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Facebook post<\/a> published on the day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">An image attached to it &#8212; shared on a page with over 4,600 followers &#8212; shows several firefighters battling a massive blaze.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"relative mb-4\">\n<div data-ylk=\"slk:Orenburg;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Orenburg<\/a> gas processing plant, run by Russia&#8217;s Gazprom, was forced to stop refining gas from neighbouring Kazakhstan&#8217;s large oil and gas field, according to Kazakh authorities, after being hit by a Ukrainian drone on October 19 (<a href=\"https:\/\/perma.cc\/FFD3-FHDR\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:archived link;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">archived link<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Russian strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure in recent weeks left thousands <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barrons.com\/news\/russian-strikes-leave-ukrainian-city-with-no-electricity-eb5d6247\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:without electricity;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">without electricity<\/a>, while Ukraine intensified its attack on Russia&#8217;s western border regions, as well as its oil and gas facilities, in return (<a href=\"https:\/\/perma.cc\/XN6G-5ZTV\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:archived link;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">archived link<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The image has also been shared alongside similar claims in <a href=\"https:\/\/perma.cc\/UH79-HQJ6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:English;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">English<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/perma.cc\/X5RS-BT4R\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Chinese;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Chinese<\/a> and\u00a0<a image<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=pVAKQqO2BE4&amp;t=4s\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:keyword searches;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">keyword searches<\/a> on Google led to a <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/j6xzCR9nEZc?si=rsNGJecgiaNlLVBk&amp;t=7\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:video;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">video<\/a> showing the same scene at the seventh-second mark\u00a0uploaded to The Telegraph&#8217;s YouTube channel on February 15, 2024 (<a href=\"https:\/\/perma.cc\/5J5Q-NB2B\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:archived
