A tourist was rushed to the hospital after being stabbed outside Bryant Park in Manhattan on Monday, according to sources.<\/p>\n
The stabbing happened just after 5:30 p.m. near 40th Street and Sixth Avenue in Midtown.<\/p>\n
Police say a 44-year-old man was stabbed in the leg.<\/p>\n
He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.<\/p>\n
Sources told Eyewitness News the victim was a tourist from Canada visiting Bryant Park.<\/p>\n
The victim said he was bent over tying his shoe when he felt a stab wound in his left leg, according to sources, but didn’t realize what it was at first.<\/p>\n
He walked away, but noticed blood shortly after and realized someone had plunged something sharp into his leg.<\/p>\n
Police are still searching for the suspect.<\/p>\n
It’s not clear if police have located any video of the stabbing to see who did this. They are still working on getting a description of the suspect.<\/p>\n
According to sources, this attack on a tourist appeared to be unprovoked.<\/p>\n
Eyewitness News spoke with many vendors near the park. Some of them say they saw an ambulance but had no idea who it was for, or what happened.<\/p>\n
The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
