Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched the all-electric Urban Cruiser Ebella, formally marking its entry into India\u2019s battery electric vehicle (BEV) segment.<\/p>\n
TKM, a joint venture between Japan\u2019s Toyota Motor and India\u2019s Kirloskar Group, said bookings for the model opened on 20 January 2026, while pricing details are yet to be announced.<\/p>\n
The Urban Cruiser Ebella is the company\u2019s first fully electric SUV developed for the Indian market.<\/p>\n
The model is based on the urban SUV concept and built on a dedicated BEV platform, forming part of Toyota\u2019s multipath electrification strategy in India.<\/p>\n
The vehicle will be available with two lithium-iron phosphate battery configurations, rated at 49 kWh and 61 kWh.<\/p>\n
TKM claims a maximum driving range of up to 543 km on a single charge.<\/p>\n
Power output varies between 106 kW and 128 kW depending on the variant, while peak torque is listed at 189 Nm across the range.<\/p>\n
Charging options include AC charging, DC fast charging and combined charging system (CCS) Type 2 compatibility.<\/p>\n
Toyota Kirloskar Motor chairman, managing director & CEO Masakazu Yoshimura said: \u201cThe introduction of All-Electric Urban Cruiser Ebella is a key enabler towards furthering our multi-pathway approach, where our aim is to contribute towards carbon neutrality while leaving no one behind.\u201d<\/p>\n
In terms of exterior design, the Urban Cruiser Ebella features Toyota\u2019s hammerhead front styling, 18in alloy wheels and full LED lighting.<\/p>\n
Inside, the SUV offers a dual-tone cabin with sliding and reclining rear seats, a panoramic roof and ventilated front seats.<\/p>\n
A unified digital cockpit integrates a 10.25in digital instrument cluster with a 10.1in infotainment screen, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.<\/p>\n
Safety systems include seven airbags, a high-tensile body structure, a 360-degree camera and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems.<\/p>\n
These comprise automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.<\/p>\n
TKM said the ownership package will include an eight-year battery warranty, Battery-as-a-Service options and an assured buyback programme.<\/p>\n
The company also stated that more than 500 BEV-enabled service outlets and over 2,500 BEV-trained technicians will be available to support aftersales service and maintenance.<\/p>\n
