Meteorologist Adam Rutt takes a dive into how cold it can get.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">We\u2019ve been talking about this upcoming shot of arctic air for a bit, with highs on Friday likely not getting above zero in many locations. Outside of Winner and Yankton, which is nothing to scoff at on its own at twenty-eight and twenty-nine degrees below zero respectively, all of our all-time record lows are at least thirty degrees below zero\u2026with a few locations seeing record lows at forty below and lower.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">What\u2019s also noteworthy is that these records occurred at different times during the month. Highs on Thursday will likely be achieved shortly after midnight, as temperatures fall through the day and bottom out well below zero.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Once we get there, we\u2019re staying there through at least Friday night with some locations also staying below zero on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">West River locations will get in on milder temperatures by Sunday into next Monday, as 30s and 40s move back in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">To the east, it\u2019ll be a slower process\u2026though we\u2019re at least above zero by day with room to spare by Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><i>Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
