A haredi<\/a> (ultra-Orthodox) soldier was rescued from an anti-draft protest in Jerusalem earlier this week, the police stated on Friday.<\/p>\n According to a video uploaded to Israel Police social media accounts, the IDF soldier was caught up in one of the haredianti-drafting protests<\/a> in Jerusalem, and was surrounded and attacked by “400 extremist protesters.”<\/p>\n The soldier was able to escape to a nearby supermarket and dialed the police for assistance.<\/p>\n “There are a bunch of people around the door, they’re starting to throw things in my direction,” the soldier is heard to have said in a recording of the phone call.<\/p>\n “What, you mean the protesters?” the operator replied, to which the soldier confirmed, “Yes, I’m in uniform, I don’t have anywhere to escape to.”<\/p>\n According to the police<\/a>, Special Patrol Unit forces, and mounted forces arrived at the scene to extract the soldier.<\/p>\nMultiple police units extract haredi soldier from supermarket<\/h3>\n
