A 50-year-old man suspected of planning a terror attack near Jerusalem was arrested, along with his son, after police found weapons and incitement materials.<\/p>\n
Israel Police<\/a> officers from the Jerusalem District Unit completed the interrogation of a 50-year-old resident of Kalandiya<\/a> who was arrested last week and suspected of planning a terror attack, police confirmed on Wednesday.<\/p>\n The prosecutor’s statement was filed against the suspect, and his detention was extended, police added.<\/p>\n The suspect was arrested after being caught causing a traffic incident at an entrance to Jerusalem. Police officers at the scene found knives and “an item of military clothing identified with a terrorist organization,” seizing the items.<\/p>\n The investigation into the incident found that the suspect planned to carry out a combined attack near the Hizma<\/a> checkpoint, having planned an attack for several months, motivated by nationalist causes.<\/p>\n The vehicle stopped at the scene bore fake license plates, the police noted.<\/p>\n The suspect was then questioned on suspicion of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit a terrorist attack, armed infiltration, forging vehicle license plates, and other offenses, police confirmed.<\/p>\n
