NEW DELHI, June 30 (Reuters) – India’s fiscal deficit in April-May was \u200cat 1.62 trillion rupees ($17.11 billion), \u200cor 9.6% of the estimate for the \u200bfinancial year ending March 31, government data showed on Tuesday. <\/p>\n
The deficit in the same period last year stood \u200cat 131.6 \u2060billion Indian rupees. <\/p>\n
India has set the fiscal deficit target \u2060for 2026\/27 at 4.3% of the GDP, or 16.96 trillion rupees. <\/p>\n
– Net \u200btax receipts \u200bat 3.5 \u200btrillion rupees, unchanged \u200cfrom the same period a year ago. <\/p>\n
– Non-tax revenue at 3.5 trillion rupees, compared with 3.6 trillion rupees a year ago. <\/p>\n
– Total government \u200cexpenditure at 8.8 trillion \u200brupees compared with \u200b7.5 trillion \u200brupees a year earlier. <\/p>\n
– \u200cCapital expenditure, or spending \u200bon building \u200bphysical infrastructure, at 2.5 trillion rupees against 2.2 trillion rupees a \u200byear \u200cago. <\/p>\n
